FEATURES:
- 11 unique training modes with configurable options. Every feature and mode found in Blackjack Mentor is also included in Blackjack Expert.
- Play Mode: Play Blackjack against the computer, while your decisions are checked along the way. Test yourself on the correct bets, actions, index plays and insurance.
- Drill Mode: Random blackjack hands are displayed, and you have to pick the correct action. The program remembers which ones you get right or wrong, and tends to pick the ones you are having the most problems with. Add count values to help master index play deviations as well.
- Table Mode: View all of the basic strategy plays. The hands are broken up into hard hands from 8 to 16, soft hands from Ace-2 to Ace-9, and all pairs. You can select specific hands to be tested on, and view your error statistics from Drill mode.
- Memorize Mode: Displays an empty blackjack strategy table and lets you fill in the correct plays one cell at a time. If you get the action wrong, it tells you and marks the error.
- Count Mode: Configurable count-down deck drills help you track the count quickly and correctly without errors. Many user options to setup your training, such as timed or untimed drills, test for bets, number of cards, table or hands display.
- Rules Mode: Choose from a wide range of blackjack rules for DAS/noDAS, S17/H17, surrender, ENHC, number of decks, and double restrictions. A matching optimal basic strategy table is automatically selected for you. 144 built-in action tables ready for you to use. Select a count system and game rules, and the matching action and index tables are selected automatically.
- Action Mode: Create or modify your own action table. Includes all of the OBS strategy tables for the Speed Count system, and 144 built-in action tables for every common rule-set variation.
- Index Mode: Specify index sets containing play deviations for different hand combinations, based on the system count. Several basic index sets for different count systems are included, or create your own.
- Count Systems: Use any of the included count systems: High-Low, KO, Speed Count, Uston Ace-Five, Uston Advanced, and more. Or, create and edit your own count systems. Supports multi-level counts, fractional count values, red/black card assignments, balanced systems, unbalanced systems: everything for professional card counters and novices alike.
- Add-on Databases: Extra count systems are available as In-app purchases. The complete High-Low system with all index sets, OmegaII level 2 advanced, and HiOptI are available.

Exactly what I was looking for... Never knew there was so many counting systems. Hi lo is another $10
I know that $34.99 may seem a bit much when compared to general App Store prices, but having been a very happy DeepNet Technologies software user for over a decade (starting with Palm and Windows apps) I must say I feel it is worth it. The way it has been adapted to the iPhone / iPod Touch is well thought out and fun to use.
I tried other card counting apps while waiting for BJ Expert to be released (I have been using it for many years on Palm) and none come close to the level of this app. If you want a software that has been around for almost a decade and is a favorite of card counters ever since it came out, this is it! Card counters seal of approval. BJ Expert has more features and options than any other, but it is all setup for easy start for beginners. I use my own betting schedules and index set opimized for my local casino conditions (I use the Red7 count): the customization options are very complete. The drills and training modes are by far the best I have seen in blakjack counting apps. The price is steep but you get what you pay for. I would recommend this app to beginners and pros alike. Customer service is out of this world: I got a response within the same day and an update was sent to Apple within a few days with added features and bug fixes! There is a reason this software has been a favorite for card counters for almost a decade!
This is not the app to get if you are just wanting to play blackjack, there are many better for that. But if you want to learn to play, and and if you want to learn to count cards this is a great app.
This is an amazing blackjack app. It has every type of mode youd want to learn and practice the game. I would say that it is easily the best bj app on the iphone and comes close to offering an experience comparable to casino verite on the PC. My main problem(s) with the app, however, is there are interface and setting issues that can sometimes make using the app frustrating. A lot of the times when youre switching between modes, say going from drill mode to count mode or count mode to more (settings), the touch interface is either unresponsive or it will not leave the current mode youre in and respond as if youre trying to play in that mode. It sometimes will take multiple tapping on the mode you want or alternating your tapping between the mode youre in and the mode you want to switch to to get the app to change. The other issue is a lot of the time the app will not save your settings for a certain mode or even the count system youve selected. It can take multiple tries for the app the finally keep the settings you want. This most notably can be found in the drill mode, where youre able to select the number of decks and cards you want to count as well as the speed and length theyre played. It can become incredibly frustrating to have 4 cards come up when you want only two to show as well as it not playing at the speed you want. Overall I would recommend this app, but really hope the developers fix these issues since the app is so expensive. If youre interested in the app, but not sure if you want to spend the money I would highly recommend downloading the demo on your windows PC.
